Looking Back, Looking Forward:
The Political Consequences of Uncovering Genocide
in Canada
By Kevin D. Annett (Eagle Strong Voice)
Squamish Nation territory
2008 was the year the impossible happened in Canada .
Our national network known as The Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared made history this past year, and forever changed the political landscape of Canada. In the words of Dora, an elderly survivor of the Kamloops Indian Residential School,
“You’ve finally put our people on the map. They can’t ignore us, ever again.”
In a nutshell, we have forced Canada to admit to its genocide of native people, and issue a formal apology for the residential admit that thousands of children died in these schools. Our allied hereditary chiefs proclaimed sovereignty over indigenous land and issued eviction orders against the churches responsible for genocide.
Quite simply, after years of effort, we have forever changed the image of Canada in the world and ended an official regime of Holocaust Denial.
It has been a joy and an honor for me to help win such a moral victory for people who have never been “on the map”. But what has this victory meant for such people?
On Palm Sunday, March 16, 2008, fifty of us - natives and "whites" - walked quietly to the front of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cathedral in downtown Vancouver and stood there, facing the congregation, holding a banner that read, “All the Children Need a Proper Burial.”
We had been warned to stay away from that church. But I remember walking unafraid to the front of the sanctuary with all our people, led by three clan mothers. Among us were William Combes, Rick Lavallee and Bingo, homeless survivors of hideous tortures at Catholic residential schools.
That moment was a pinnacle for me, and for the survivors, for in the very heart of that which had tried to kill them, they were able to face it and say, We are still here, and we want our friends returned to us.
Past the angry threats of the priests, and the police who later descended on us, we were reaching out and touching the hearts of people in the Catholic church that day.
And it worked. For, after a few minutes, as our procession left the sanctuary led by the drumming of the clan mothers, the entire congregation rose spontaneously as we walked by.
It was then that I knew we had won. And sure enough, the walls began coming down after our moral victory that day.
In the wake of our March action, the missing residential school children have, for the first time, preoccupied the conscience and public discourse of Canada . It is as if the entire dominant culture is now standing, as did the Catholic parishioners, to acknowledge what they know is true, in remembrance of the missing children.
In opposition, both church and state have done their best, since that day, to belittle our work and downplay the reality of murders in Indian residential schools, and their responsibility for them. But such is always the behavior of those with their backs to the wall.
If our simple act of speaking of the dead and holding up the survivors has begun to shake loose centuries of Holocaust Denial in Canada , it has also caused us to ask ourselves, Where do we go from here?
We are no longer asking for anything from the churches and state that are responsible for genocide. Rather, all our actions in 2008 have laid the groundwork for an even greater step: drawing the broader political consequences of our exposure of Canada as a colonial and genocidal settler state, and creating an altogether new society.
Who are We and What Can We Become?
Our exposure of the Canadian genocide has simultaneously indicted the social order that gave rise to it. Euro-Canadian Christian society as a whole stands condemned in the dock alongside those persons who ran the residential schools, sterilized and murdered children, spread smallpox, and dug the mass graves.
Despite their best efforts to ignore this fact and contain the whole matter with pseudo “apologies”, the Canadian government and its partner Catholic, Anglican and United churches now face the same kind of historical reckoning that Nazi Germany did after its defeat in 1945: an awakening to their own criminal nature.
On April 20, 2007, Canada and those churches suffered a fundamental moral defeat in Parliament, when the first cabinet minister in Canadian history publicly acknowledged that untold thousands of children had died in Christian Indian residential schools.
The extent of this defeat has yet to be appreciated by most Canadians, or even indigenous people. But its impact is nevertheless reverberating throughout every level of society and undermining the very basis of Canada ’s existence.
The question now is how to draw the larger conclusions of this defeat in order to reinvent Canada from the top down, and the bottom up, with a basic purpose: the establishment of a decolonized, secular, and genuinely democratic federation of sovereign nations – the Republic of Kanata .
Shedding the Past, Creating a Future
Canada has never been allowed to become a sovereign and democratic nation because of its historical role as a resource base and captured market for first the British and then the American empire. That dependency required that Canada remain frozen as a colonial, church-dominated, semi-feudal society: a condition that has caused the sustained genocide of indigenous peoples and the destruction of their lands, and now threatens the lives of all of us.
The two attempted democratic revolutions in our history – the abortive rebellions in 1837 in Upper and Lower Canada, and the Metis Insurrection of 1885 in the Red River basin – had as their aim the ending of an Imperial oligarchy and the creation of a democratic Republic in which aboriginals and Europeans could co-exist equally. The crushing of both rebellions ensured that oligarchy and apartheid would remain the political norm in Canada .
And yet, the same vision of freedom that propelled these revolts had been originally offered by the eastern Six Nations to the arriving Europeans through the “Two Road Wampum” Great Law of Peace, in which both cultures would share the land and not seek to dominate or conquer the other.
That offer was rejected not by Europeans as a whole, but by the religious and commercial elites who ran the foreign policy of both the French and British Empires, especially during the European Religious Wars of the formative 17th century.
Time and again, the Catholic and Protestant churches subverted peaceful relations between whites and natives, and among aboriginal nations such as the Huron and Iroquois, as part of their plan to exterminate all non-Christian peoples and take their land. In the words of the Jesuit missionary Jean Brebeuf,
“There can be no peace or parity between the savages and Christians. This is required by our Faith and the fur trade.”
Canada as we know it has arisen on the basis of this basic philosophy of Christian Superior Dominion.
There is still no equality between natives and non-natives in Canada because of an apartheid Indian Act that relegates “Indians” to a separate and inferior status, and holds most of them in a state of permanent sickness, landlessness and poverty on their own land. Such permanent internal colonialism is required by the foreign and domestic corporate interests that run Canada as a fuel pump and watering hole.
Quite simply, in a neo-colonial regime like Canada , where “the Crown” legally owns all the land, native people must continue to be killed off, legally and methodically, for such theft to continue. A constant aboriginal death rate twenty times the national average is the deadly proof.
This genocidal reality will never change in Canada as it is presently constituted, since the maintenance of natives, and the poor generally, as a disempowered cash cow for others to exploit is an institutionalized part of Canadian society.
The nine billion dollar Indian Affairs industry requires a sick, dependent aboriginal populace, and a compliant class of collaborating native elites to administer this sickness. For the resulting totalitarian control of native people at every level is precisely what resource-hungry corporations need to take the last remnants of oil, timber, minerals and water from what is still aboriginal land.
Such a structurally criminal regime cannot be tinkered with or reformed, resting as it does on the oppression of most of the population, whether native or non-native. The existence of Canadians as “subjects of the Crown” under the ultimate authority of one person – a Governor-General accountable only to a foreign monarch – amounts to a state of legal slavery utterly repugnant to democracy and sovereignty.
“The only way to reform a colonial system is by dismantling it” said the great Irish nationalist, Bernadette Devlin. And the key to dismantling the Canadian oligarchy is to establish responsible government by severing ties with the English monarchy and creating a federated and secular Republic of sovereign indigenous nations with full public ownership of the economy, the land, and all its resources.
In short, every vestige of the system that spawned genocide in Canada needs to be abolished, if we are serious about ending its legacy and doing justice to aboriginal people and residential school survivors.
A Program for Ending Genocide
Legal genocide in Canada has rested historically on three pillars: a colonial political oligarchy under the authority of the English Crown; a powerful, unaccountable and state-protected religious oligarchy in the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches, and later, the state-created United Church ; and a foreign-controlled, dependent economy.
To dismantle the root causes of genocide in Canada, we must replace all three of these systems, through a process of active de-construction and reconstruction: undoing what caused the wrong and building an altogether new political and social regime in its place.
To commence, our general aim must be the following steps of “decolonization and de-construction” in order to lay the basis for a true democratic and secular Republic:
I. Politically: Active disaffiliation from the English Crown and the Canadian state and its courts;
II. Spiritually: Disestablishment of the Roman Catholic, Anglican and United Church of Canada ; and
III. Socially: De-corporatizing our economy and the creation of local, self-sufficient economies under public ownership.
A real Program of Justice for all victims of genocide in Canada must restore social equality, the health of the land, and democratic sovereignty of all nations within Kanata , through these and other measures:
I. Politically:
1. Abolish the Governor-General and issue a formal Declaration of Independence from the British Crown.
2. Abolish the Indian Act, the federal courts, the Senate, the RCMP and the Indian and Northern Affairs department.
3. Reconstitute Canada as a federated and secular Republic of Kanata , based on a recognition of the root title sovereignty of all indigenous nations and of the common ownership by all citizens of the economy, wealth, lands and resources of Kanata .
II. Spiritually:
1. Tax the churches: Revoke the charitable tax-exempt status of the Roman Catholic, Anglican and United Church, nationalize all church property and land, audit and assess all payments owed by these churches to the people and indigenous nations since their inception, and return all lands and effects stolen by these churches from native people.
2. Revoke the legal charters and legislation governing the Roman Catholic, Anglican and United Church of Canada, and thereby end their official, legal status.
3. End diplomatic recognition of the Vatican and expel the Papal Nuncio.
4. Separate church and state: no funding for religious schools or churches, no religious oaths or functions connected to the state, no state protection for clergy or churches (ie, revoke sections 176 and 296 of the Criminal Code of Canada).
5. Establish a public, international inquiry into crimes of these churches against native people, including in Indian residential schools, with the power to subpoena, try and jail offenders.
III. Socially
A Jubilee Campaign to restore the land and economy to the people:
1. Cancel all debts and mortgages, and return all land to its original owners.
2. Place banks, money supply and credit under public ownership and control.
3. Impose a 100% tax on all wealth gained by inheritance, interest and speculation, and the abolition of all income tax.
4. Establish a maximum wage and redistribute all surplus income to the lower paid.
5. Collect all back taxes owed by corporations and a special tax on the super wealthy and on corporate profits.
6. Abolish foreign ownership of the economy.
7. Abolish all land speculation and the commercial trading in land.
8. Nationalize all resources.
9. Socialize all housing, medicine, education and transportation, freely available to all.
A Gaia Campaign to restore the health and harmony of the land:
1. Impose a Green Tax on all privately owned vehicles.
2. Abolish nuclear power and the uranium industry.
3. Develop wind, solar and tidal energy industries.
4. Phase out petrol vehicles, and replace with non-polluting, mass-transit systems.
5. Immediately nationalize all polluting industries and abolish or eco-convert them.
6. Legally limit the size of all land ownership to 100 hectares.
7. Collectivize all farming and agriculture, and abolish all pesticides and herbicides.
8. Abolish the sale and commercialization of water: Provide free, universal access to water through the establishment of public ownership over all water resources.
Acting on this Vision and Program
These proposals are but a beginning in a long process of social and spiritual emancipation from corporate genocide.
Our purpose as a de-colonizing movement is to create a new society within the shell of the old: to bring about a parallel social order in opposition to “Canada” through a massive democratic movement from below. We can only succeed through a conscious, activated citizenry who take control of their lives and the land.
Consequently, we reject any reliance on or involvement in the existing parliamentary or electoral system, which is based on an undemocratic allegiance to a foreign monarch.
Instead, we will seek to create new popular assemblies and courts through which the people can express their will freely and openly, justice can be directly enacted, and the present political system can be overturned. We will use mass civil disobedience, strikes, withholding of taxes, and other direct actions to undermine and replace Canada and its institutions with a truly democratic republic.
To coordinate and lead this campaign, we look to a mass revolutionary party to engender but not dominate our movement. The creation of a democratic and secular Republic of Kanata will unleash the greatest freedom and diversity among the people, who will learn through their own struggles the meaning of self-government.
Our underlying recognition is that true democracy and sovereignty cannot come into being or survive without the complete public ownership of all of Kanata by all the people. The poorest person has as equal a right to the land and its wealth as the richest, and we shall work to create a society where all class distinctions and the private ownership of the economy have been abolished.
We encourage you to share this Program and Vision, and begin to act on it.
As a first step, we call upon all people who are in agreement with this Vision and Program to take the Pledge of Allegiance to Kanata (below) and to form organizing committees in their communities to prepare for the formal launching of the Republican Party of Kanata.
In solidarity and hope for our common future,
The Elders and National Council of the Republican Movement of Kanata, in alliance with traditional Squamish Chief Siem Kiapilano
………………………………………………………………………………
Pledge of Allegiance to the Republic of Kanata
I do solemnly swear allegiance to the Federated Republic of Kanata, and to the principles of sovereignty, natural law, unconditional democracy, and public, collective ownership for which Kanata stands.
I swear to defend the Republic of Kanata against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and to sever all ties and allegiance to the British Crown, and to the government known as Canada. I pledge to stand in solidarity with all those who take this oath and to defend them unconditionally.
I take this pledge freely, without coercion, mental reservation, or ulterior motive, according to my honor and freedom as a natural and sovereign person.

kahentinetha and katenies...
MOHAWK WOMEN FILE ‘DEMAND’. CANADA MUST RESPECT THE “RULE OF LAW”.
MNN. Aug. 4, 2008. The following “Letter of Demand” was sent to the Attorney General of Canada. We are reminding them to fulfill their obligation to us as our historic allies to protect our rights. Canada Border Services Agents has illegally erected facilities in the midst of our community of Akwesasne and is illegally interfering with our right to live peacefully among our people. In particular, criminal assaults have been conducted against members of our community, including the assault against Kahentinetha and Katenies on June 14th 2008 at the “Cornwall Ontario” check point. According to the Canadian Constitution Canada is governed by the rule of law and everyone is equal before the law. This means that Canadian officials must obey the law, just like everyone else. When they commit an assault they should be charged with an assault under the Criminal Code just like anyone else who commits an assault. According to Federal Court of Canada rules, the Attorney General
must answer this letter by August 22, 2008.
LETTER OF DEMAND
Date: July 23, 2008
WITHOUT PREJUDICE
TO: Hon. Robert Douglas Nicholson
Minister of Justice & Attorney General of Canada
284 Wellington Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H8

TAKE NOTICE THAT ON JUNE 14, 2008, KAHENTINETHA AND KATENIES, MEMBERS OF THE KANION’KE:HAKA/MOHAWK NATION, WERE ASSAULTED, BRUTALIZED, ARRESTED AND DETAINED ILLEGALLY AT THE CORNWALL BORDER.
The following are the facts giving rise to this incident.
1.On June 14, 2008 Sakowaiaks and Kahentinetha went to Akwesasne to pick up Katenies. Kahentinetha is a 68 year old grandmother. Katenies is 43 years old and also a grandmother.
2.At approximately 2:00 pm they were passing through the Canadian border control on the Cornwall portion. Akwesasne is a small community. The Canada-U.S. border has been placed in the middle of the Mohawk community. The people have to cross the border many times a day for groceries or to visit relatives.
3.Katenies, Kahentinetha and Sakowaiaks went through the border and were told to wait under the canopy. They sat there peacefully for an hour surrounded by guards. Some Mohawk elders showed up to witness. Several other vehicles were searched and released. Only Indigenous people were stopped. Eventually a platoon of about a dozen guards marched towards the car, all wearing leather gloves, flack jackets and all kinds of equipment hanging about their waist. One officer, Maurice Saucier [Badge #16121], was on the cell phone throughout directing operations during the attack on Kahentinetha and Katenies.
4.At approximately 3:00 pm Katenies was dragged violently from the back seat of the car by a gang of hefty young men and women. They knocked her down, pinned her to the ground, and forced their knees into her head and back. They handcuffed her and smashed and rubbed her face into the pavement. Sakowaiaks still remembers the sound of flesh hitting the pavement. She received bleeding scrapes and bruises on her face, shoulders, arms and legs. Katenies’ was taken into the customs building and later to Ottawa. She was not given any medical attention. She was not allowed to call her mother and her mother was not permitted to see her or speak to her. Katenies was held incommunicado for three days until she appeared in Cornwall court on June 17, 2008.
5.There were no warrants or charges out for Kahentinetha. Her ID and car keys had already been taken. Katenies’ has not been returned. Also missing are documents that were in the trunk and the shoes taken from Kahentinetha’s feet.
6.It was only after the assault on Katenies began that Kahentinetha was ordered to get out of the car. She saw what they were planning to do to her. Kahentinetha heard Maurice Saucier tell the other agents to “Take her out”. On June 14th 2008 she was afraid for her life if she got out of the car. She was right and continues to be afraid.
7.She was handcuffed, assaulted and imprisoned. Once in the cell, the attack continued. Some of the officers deliberately tightened the handcuffs she was wearing several times. This cut the circulation to her hands. The pain shot up her arms and she experienced flashes of light and pains in the middle of her chest and back. She cried for help. The guards ignored her and tightened the handcuffs more. They yelled threats at her and kept ordering her to bend down. A man stood behind her and had his hands on her pants. She received scrapes and bruises on her arms and legs.
8.Frank Horn, a Cornwall lawyer, and his son Kanatase, happened to be waiting in the line at the border. [613-935-8882]. They wouldn’t let him see his sister, Kahentinetha, until they took off the cuffs and gave her a chair to sit on. When he saw her, he immediately insisted on calling an ambulance. The Akwesasne Police stood and watched in silence. The ambulance took her to Cornwall Community Hospital and the Ottawa Ontario Heart Institute. She remained in hospital for 5 days in the trauma unit and intensive care unit. Since that time she had a relapse and was hospitalized at the Anna Laberge Hospital in Chateauguay Quebec.
9.The medical record confirms that despite excellent physical condition Kahentinetha had a trauma induced heart attack. Her recovery will take a long time. Part of her heart was killed. Her health will never be the same. Both women are now recuperating in the company of their children and grandchildren.
10.None of these women is associated with any kind of criminal activity.
11.The video footage of the assaults on Kahentinetha and Katenies on June 14th 2008 have been confiscated by Canada‘s Department of “National Defense”. We are informed the only way to obtain these videos is to “waive our rights”. .
12.Some of the CBSA officers had the following badge numbers: 17012; 16320; 16511; 16121; and 16275; Some of those involved and responsible for border issues are Alain Jolicoeur, President of CBSA 613-952-3200; Lance Markel, District Director CBSA 613-930-3234; Hon. Stockwell Day, Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness 613-995-1703 day.s@parl.gc.ca; Dave MacKenzie, Parliamentary Secretary, Public Safety, 613-995-4432 mackenzie.d@parl.gc.ca; Akwesasne Mohawk Police 613-575-2250 ext. 2400; and Louis Mitchell, Mohawk Security 613-932-5183, 613-575-2340;
13.We have reason to believe that the Canadian “state” conspired to kill us. These assaults appear to have been carried out by the Canada Border Security Agency, Canada Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services and Mohawk Security Officers, all agencies of the Canadian government. The courts of “Canada” are presently issuing false charges and attempting to serve warrants on Kahentinetha and Katenies.
Demand for Relief:
14. The individuals who assaulted the three women must be charged, tried and punished.
15.Full and complete undoctored copies of the video footage of this event.
16.Full disclosure of all files and official communications concerning the cases of Kahentinetha and Katenies.
17.$10 million for physical, psychological and punitive damages and such other relief as this court may deem fit.
Deadline for settlement:
18.An order that all Canadian government agencies will respect the time delays set out in the rules of court.

"I see Nothing! I know Nothing!":
The RCMP Cover Up Murder, Once Again
by Kevin D. Annett
Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared
Does Darrell LaFosse think we're all stupid?
Apparently. On July 10, the Toronto Star released some alarming information from an RCMP internal memo where LaFosse, an Assistant Superintendent, falsely claims that the RCMP had no knowledge of the deaths of children in Indian residential schools until recently.
In reality, as early as December 13, 1995, the RCMP were notified of murders in the United Church's Alberni residential school, and these charges were reported in the Vancouver Sun that same month. (see asterisk, below) But twelve years later, the Mounties are pretending that it's all news to them.
Has LaFosse somehow forgotten that the Mounties ran a supposed "official investigation" into residential school crimes in B.C. from 1995 to 2001, through its "Indian Residential Schools Task Force"? And that this Task Force was provided and addressed the evidence of dead and missing children?
Suddenly, all of that history seems to have vanished.
According to the Toronto Star article, last December 24, 2007, Assistant RCMP Commissioner Darrell LaFosse wrote an internal briefing memo to Deputy Commissioner Tim Killam that said the RCMP "recently" learned of allegations about "missing children" and did not have detailed knowledge about the charges.
The memo, approved by LaFosse, says "some deaths" resulted from illness, but that "it is suspected by some Aboriginal people that there were deaths that may be criminal in nature ... While this perspective is gaining momentum among former students, it has only recently come to the attention of the RCMP as a result of discussions with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission."
Astounding. Is Superintendent LaFosse actually trying to make us believe that his own agency, which helped operate the residential schools and abducted native children from their villages, "only recently" learned about missing and dead children at these schools? Especially when the RCMP addressed these deaths in the media throughout 1995 to 1997?
Darrell LaFosse is lying. But that makes him a good candidate for participating in the government's fraudulent "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" (TRC), whose mandate prevents any public reference to misconduct in a residential school, or any naming of names of perpetrators.
In another internal memo to RCMP commanders, on February 20, 2008, LaFosse confirmed that no criminal investigation into the schools will be conducted as a result of the TRC or the so-called "compensation" process.
In a new low, even for the RCMP, "Pinocchio" LaFosse continues to tell lies in the same memo by claiming there are "only sparse and vague accounts of events that would describe the RCMP's relationship with these schools. Most of the information comes in the form of verbal accounts from former students."
Not true. The RCMP were authorized by federal laws to act as the police arm of the residential schools, abducting children from their homes and hunting down runaways. This information comes from government records, not primarily from students' verbal accounts, as LaFosse claims.
LaFosse and has bosses must be nervous about all those dead native kids, to try re-writing history and subverting the truth in such a blatant manner. And so, naturally, they're covering all their bases by doing more than lying in public. LaFosse announced in the same memo the creation of an RCMP "steering committee ... to deal with issues arising out of the (TRC) hearings ... and to document the RCMP's own role in the era ... especially if investigations involve allegations of wrongdoing by RCMP veterans."
LaFosse should have checked the TRC mandate before rushing like that to produce his own spin on the RCMP's deep complicity in the deaths of residential school kids. For that mandate actually prohibits the government and church-selected TRC Commissioners from accepting any evidence or information regarding misconduct by an individual or organization in the schools!
LaFosse knows perfectly well that the role of his agency in crimes in the schools will be as officially whitewashed as that of the churches themselves; and yet the growing public outcry over the missing children, and the mounting evidence from survivors themselves, is forcing the RCMP to address the issue, and trip all over their own lies in the process.
That's all good. It's what happens to criminal bodies as their bloody past gets revealed. But the real question remains: when and how will a genuine, independent inquiry into the death and disappearance of residential school children be launched in Canada - and by whom?

Apology rejected...
PM HARPER'S "APOLOGY' TO BE OFFICIALLY REJECTED
For Immediate Release: Breaking News from Squamish Nation Territory
Prime Minister Harper's "Apology" to Be Officially Rejected by Residential School Survivors at Rally and Press Conference
Vancouver, 18 June, 2008
Disgusted by the attempt by Canada and its churches to exonerate themselves with an "apology" for crimes against humanity in their Indian Residential Schools, grassroots survivors and their elders will rally in Vancouver next Monday, June 23, to publicly reject the apology.
Led by The Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared (FRD) and hereditary elders, residential school survivors will say no to the Harper apology, and condemn what they see as an attempt by the Harper government to trivialize and hide the reality of genocide in Canada.
"They say they're sorry, but that won't bring back the kids I saw killed at the Catholic school in Kamloops" said survivor William Combes on the Hidden from History radio program this week.
"If they're so sorry, then when will the priest who killed them be brought to trial? How come the churches are off the hook?"
Combes and others will rally next Monday, June 23 at 10 am (PST) at the office of the government's Indian Residential Schools Resolution Canada (IRSRC) at 1166 Alberni street in downtown Vancouver.
A press conference will be held at that time and location, where a letter will be issued to Prime Minister Harper and the United Nations from residential school survivors and the FRD.
This IRSRC office was the scene of a sit-in by residential school survivors last year that pushed Ottawa to issue its "apology".
"Steven Harper should be in jail" commented second generation survivor Rob Morgan of the Nishga Nation, who led last year's occupation.
"He admitted in Parliament that Canada and its churches deliberately planned the residential schools, that killed thousands of kids. So why aren't they all facing trial now? We made them apologize, but now we're going to make them face the music for what they did and are still doing to us."
The FRD is one of several groups that is sponsoring an independent inquiry into Canadian residential schools and the death and burial of children that will run counter to the government's dubious "Truth and Reconciliation Commission".
Last April 10, the FRD released a list of twenty eight mass graves near former Indian Residential Schools across Canada where countless children who died in these schools are interred. An updated list of burial sites and other evidence is being compiled by FRD researchers.

Oz?

The Wizard
The higher incidence in tornadoes this season reminds me of the movie “The Wizard of Oz”. the tornado played a pivotal part in that story. The wizard controlling the minds of the people, from behind the curtain. Sounds a little familiar to the real world we are living in now. Corruption is being exposed now at every level in this “modern society“. Dorothy was able to expose the corruption and end the myth in the fiction. The real story has many characters like Dorothy and the real corruption is worse than any horror movie. Dennis Kucinich introduced articles of impeachment against George W. Bush in the United States Congress on Monday. If you did not see it on the web you probably don’t know about it, the Wizard owns the mainstream media.
Who are the men behind the curtain here in Canada? The myth is unraveling before their eyes, so watch for them to show their true selves now. Our brothers and sisters in Ireland handed them a major setback in their esoteric agenda, watch them show their true selves over there as well. They will be going for it all in their final countdown to 2012. After killing Kennedy for all to see, they became more emboldened until 9/11 , their “new pearl harbor” . We should be expecting them to start a nuclear war next and blaming it on the “terrorists”. These families have started and financed both sides of every war in the last few hundred years, they show themselves as the only terrorists and enemies of peace on earth.
The curtain is being peeled back for the first time ever thanks to the internet, so watch for them to attack the web viciously with “their” new laws. The destruction of the U.S. dollar was planned long ago so they could introduce the Amero and force the N.A.U. down the people’s throat. It is all fiat currency anyway so it means nothing unless you agree that it does. Remember what William Lyon Mackenzie King said about a nation controlling it’s own credit.
The big question Canadians are asking about the government’s apology, what are they going to do about it? The better question to ask is what are you going to do about it. The men behind the curtain are still right there, running everything in the corporatocracy. So what will you do about it? We natives were the first victims of the psychopathic mindset that controls, from behind the curtain. The curtain is being held open for all to see what is really going on, have a good look and see what will happen to your own children, unless we remove the men from behind the curtain.

Economy

In 1609, Samuel de Champlain was lead to the Mohawk village of Ticonderoga by his new allies the Wendat (Huron). He provoked a state of war that lasted until “The Great Peace of Montreal” in 1701. Because the Huron had lead him to our village, they were guilty of breaking the Peace and the Iroquois nation engaged in total war with them.
The royal courts of Europe all trace their bloodline to Queen Samirimis (Statue of Liberty) and King Nimrod of Babylon. Their method of mind control (government) was to get people to fight with each other while they sit atop the hierarchal pyramid, like an all seeing eye. No wonder Europe has never known peace as these “cousins” had them continually killing each other. When King Louis declared war on us he boasted he “would wipe the Iroquois from the face of the earth”. We are still here.
When we invited Britain to share Ontario with us through the principles of “Gushwenta” (two row), I am sure there was a celebratory dinner between these cousins. It is still the same today with these families. Now they are the monarchs through the financial systems, running the markets worldwide. The economy was the preferred method they adopted to deal with us after the Great Peace in 1701. Now the unsustainable economy is imploding in it’s death throes. These families (Illuminati) also control every country’s central bank. It is money that drives the markets and they control all the money, so they also control corporations globally through their “self-designed” system of control.
The old Babylonian tactic of “problem, reaction, solution” is in play right now in the economic structure. First you create a problem that will get a reaction from the people. Then you offer a solution to the problem that you created, when the people demand it. The economic solutions they offer will all ensure that their ancient goal of world domination will be met. The deliberate downfall of the US dollar is for their introduction of the Amero, their solution to the problem. We hear top illuminist Al Gore, preaching about the need to get a global government to tackle the carbon problem. When the scientists agree that none of the ‘inconvenient truth” portrayals are good science.
People, we have to find a new way based on egalitarian principles. Every one has the right to freedom of thought. Let us think together for the coming of true peace between each other and the environment. On this planet we all have the same mother, she is the earth.
With unity of mind through the natural law comes great strength.
Peace,

More war...
War
Why is Canada’s government passing bills to continue an illegal, immoral war in Afghanistan? The liberals and conservatives are obviously ruled by the same people through their control of the colonial senate. Which is made up of liberals and conservatives, all unelected. The colonial structure of Canada has remained the same since the British system landed here. The same families who control the economy also control the government and lawmaking powers through the senate.
Canada signed UN 1514 on December 14, 1960. This was the treaty on decolonization. The secret government that has always ruled Canada, obviously never intended to honour that treaty. That would mean Canada would have to become a true democracy and they never wanted that.
Now the conservatives will keep Canadian troops in Afghanistan for at least 3 more years, backed by the liberals. It looks like the senate holds a lot more power than Canadians are lead to believe. It is much like the one party system in the U.S. with these same families running that country. I forward a link to a video on the war that is short, but looks at it historically. http://youtube.com/watch?v=leRJaOagwzM
If the women of Canada controlled the senate, the war problem would be solved. If the women of the world took their proper place in the consensus process, war would never happen again. The people who want and promote war, are the ones who profit from it and they all can be traced to these same families.
The women bear the children and are responsible for the land they bring them into. That is the same in all nature. We all come from our mothers so we should ask our mothers what is their opinion about sending their children to die and commit murder in the name of economy. The true terror threat is the mad men that control the pretend democracies of this world through, as president Eisenhower called them, the military industrial complex.
We people of this world have to stand up for our future generations in the name of peace on earth. Ask your own mother what she thinks about war. The time is now to end the war problem before the next cosmological event that is sure to come.
With unity of mind through the natural law, comes great strength.

Update from the hills

Kanekota
Kanekota means “where the waters come from the earth” or headwaters. It is the high country in Ontario. The waters start here and flow South into the Grand, west into the Saugeen, north into the (Beaver, Mad and Noisy), east into the Pine, Boyne and Nottawasga. There are 78 springs which start the head of the Grand river, they form into a small river when they flow under Highway 89. The Haldimand Proclamation of 1784 clearly states that 6miles from each side of the Grand, from Lake Erie to it’s head , shall be protected for us and our posterity forever.
In 1710 we sent a delegation to London to meet with Queen Anne to “polish the chain”. The visit was popularized by the paintings one of the royal artists created, they were known as “the Four Kings”. One of those men was my grandfather. When he got back from that trip he expressed the most important thing that he learned, he said “they rely on the written word, it is how they will be judged” I know he would expect me to understand that lesson he taught and hold them to their words, as they wrote them down.
If you look on Google Earth at Kanekota now it is frightening to see what has been done to the most ecologically important area in Ontario. The earth has a system where she pumps out clean water in the hills and it flows down cleaning and nourishing everything in its path. When you are polluting the water at source deliberately, you are going against the natural law of the universe. We the people, have jurisdiction over these laws and it is our duty to uphold our responsibility to creation, so our earth family continues.
In Hornings Mills, the man-made pond has been spewing out lethal toxins continuously for over 60 years now. The first response I ever got from Stephen Harper was the next day after I put out the Poison Pine River story . He said “Minister Ambrose has been alerted” as if that was supposed to make it better. Most of the people in the village do not know what the history of the pond entails. The constant foam that never stops was the first thing I noticed when I moved there. I contacted the Ministry of the Environment in Guelph and reported that I had an ecological emergency, they said they would send someone to investigate. After 2 days I called back because no-one showed up and the guy told me “we sent someone there and he said it was a little foam in the river, no problem”. Another person expressed a local legend to me, she said that “the navy sends their divers to practice there because it is one of the deepest natural lakes around”. I noticed a very high incidence of type 2 diabetes in that small village. Diabetes 2 is known to be a P.O.P disorder. When you start to add up all the evidence it looks like the Canadian government has been knowingly poisoning their taxpaying citizens.
The attachments clearly show it is not a natural lake. The eyewitnesses who remember the Canadian Army building the lake in 1945. The Prime Minister all of a sudden showing an interest in my work. The dying fish and sick wildlife. Every level of government complicit in covering it up totally. Now we have new land destroyers moving in to finish the job. These are the windmill developers trying to make this into a giant industrial park. With no regard for the earth or the life but very concerned about the revenues. Do you think something is wrong with this picture?
I am the eyes and ears of the Mohawk nation here in the hilly country of Ontario (Kanekota), it is my duty to put this “into the well“. It is something that affects us all in the great lakes watershed. It is your duty to the future generations to do something. So instead of saying “what will they do” ask what you will do for your future children. They will be your ultimate judge.

When was "Rule of Law" rewritten?

Mr. Barrett shows his total ignorance of the law with his latest blurb. I attach UN 1514 as he has obviously not read it, maybe he finally will before he talks about rule of law again. What war did we lose that gave this land to Britain? When did Britain/Canada ever get our consent, to “legally” become a part of their system of mind control? They always pretend to respect the treaties they have signed, so as not to have them become null and void. The fact is that in 1924 Canada invented apartheid with their “Indian Advancement Act” authored by the architect of genocide Duncan Campbell Scott. They pretended to depose our traditional government and replace it with their puppet system. They did this at gunpoint in our longhouses. Is that legal Toby? Is that following the rule of law?
Toby should also read UN 1021 on the crime and punishment of genocide. The good news is that the people of Haldimand county do have a right to use their own minds and decide for themselves if they would like to be a part of the illegalities Mr. Barrett talks about. Or they can follow the great white roots of peace to their source and sit with us in the shade of the Peace tree. They could start reshaping Canada into a true democracy, based on the model of peace that we have been guarding. They could stop this rush to make it an absolute police state. They could take back their responsibility to use their minds properly instead of following like sheep.
Gushwenta or Two Row, is the legal treaty between us and the settlers in all of Ontario. It is the “foreign policy” for peace on earth. If the governments of Ontario and Canada do not want to follow the rule of law, the people can opt out of their system and follow the legal path. If they do allow their governments to continue on this reckless path, then they are complicit in genocide.
The people are starting to wake up to this illegal colonial system and they are tired of it. It is a top down hierarchy with 13 families running everything. Their “rule of law” is whoever has the most money wins. They are the same people who make the money, so they always win when you play their game. The yuppies reading this who think you are immune to all of this better open your minds, as your grandchildren will become slaves playing this game.
Do you want to take the red pill or the blue pill?

Part of Toby’s illegal declaration;
AND WHEREAS, the lawlessness, and the less than adequate prevention and response on the part of police and other government authorities regarding these illegal acts appears to be tolerated, and perhaps condoned, by provincial and federal government policy.
AND WHEREAS, both the provincial and federal governments have legislative, regulatory, enforcement, decision-making and policy-making capability beyond the mandate and scope of Haldimand County.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that Haldimand County, in support of all of its residents, proclaim and request, with utmost urgency, that the following actions be taken where mandated at the provincial and federal level:
Restore police patrol, response and enforcement as well as justice, order and the rule of law, including court injunctions, throughout Haldimand County regardless of one’s race or geographical location.
2. Cease all land dispute negotiations and related actions until extortion, and illegal occupations and protests are terminated.
3. Budget and publicly set timelines and deadlines to continue to resolve legitimate land disputes expeditiously within a climate of openness, mutual respect, and justice for all affected.
4. Compensate individuals, businesses and the municipality for loss, insecurity, economic decline, and any other collateral damage stemming from provincial and federal decisions and policy, or lack thereof, that have eroded peace, order and good government in Haldimand County and beyond.

The Horror

WAR
The Afghan massacre that occurred early in this illegal war, is the subject of an international investigation right now. The American government is obviously complicit in genocide and should be tried under the laws governing this type of crime. Since most people do not take the time to do their own investigating but rely on the corpo-media to do all their thinking for them, I have copied a link to a movie that everyone needs to see. This movie shows the absolute horror that war is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-NpdoGkaEc&feature=user
The “Babylonian” tactic of divide and conquer has been in use with the western governments for 1000’s of years now. When they can get the people they are enslaving to kill themselves it works more efficiently for their ultimate goal of becoming the masters of all.
The Canadian military has been committing murder since their arrival in Afghanistan. Many of us remember the Vietnam war mistake. How the Americans would go in to “mop up” the Viet Cong (insurgents) while almost every time they were actually killing regular Vietnamese people. The following video is reminiscent of those mopping up missions in Vietnam. This time it is the Canadian army doing the murdering of innocent Afghani people with little or no remorse for their actions. In the media and the house of commons (corpo-gov), they call these actions “successes” in the “mission”. Each Canadian should watch this video and do more of your own research on the web, the only place you will see the true picture of what is really going on in Afghanistan.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niwF6TEsw5w
I remember when Americans who were against the Vietnam war would come to Canada to avoid being complicit in the atrocity and to seek freedom from the oppression of the draft. The press called them draft dodgers, I called them patriots. When will the people of Canada awake to the crimes that are being committed in their name, by their corpo-gov.
War begets more war. The horror, the horror.

Afghanistan

How many more children will have to die in Afghanistan before the Canadian people stop their involvement? These civilian casualties are reported by main stream media as footnotes to the “successes” of the “mission”. The war on terror was started as a result of the 911 attacks on the WTC, pentagon and Shanksville. Canada immediately deployed it’s military aid to fight the terrorists that were responsible. But who really was responsible? The Japanese parliament has recently raised these questions in their public democratic format. At last, some politicians who really do want to get the real terrorists behind the murders committed in New York.
They raised the questions any police organization should, when investigating a horrendous crime. Like where is the wreckage of the plane that hit the pentagon or that apparently crashed in a field in Shanksville. What about the molten metal found weeks later under the rubble? What about the eyewitness testimonies of the firemen in the towers reporting they heard multiple explosions, like a controlled demolition? What about building 7?
No doubt it was truly terrorists that committed these heinous acts but we should be fighting the real terrorists, no? Instead Canada has sent their men to commit murder and mayhem in Afghanistan. If you were a regular person in Afghanistan you would think the terrorists are the people killing your families and friends everyday. The people there had nothing to do with the 911 attacks in New York yet they have lost thousands if not millions of their young ones to the “coalition of the willing” as bonesman Bush called it.
On the anniversary of 911 this year, the Japanese sent their delegation to Afghanistan, the real victims of the terrorist act in New York. We think the Canadian people deserve a proper investigation of the cause of 911, by their government. The most downloaded film on the internet is Loose Change, surely some of the Canadian politicians have seen it. It should be shown right in the house of commons, as it was in Japan.
Canada has been “illegally” in Afghanistan for almost as long as they were in WW2. The current “regime” in the U.S. does never want to end this illegal occupation. This has worked out real well for them and their military industrial complex of which they count Canada as a vital part.
The main problem Canada should be thinking about is how do they save their reputation on the world stage. If Canada were to be an integral part of stopping the New World Order agenda, it would crush the SPP now, rooting out the evil that exists and will persist. They might be able to save face with the rest of the world.
911 was an inside job, for sure. Bring home the troops Canada, you’ve been fooled from the beginning. The people are waking to the truth. If you want the truth then seek it and it will set you free. No more innocent children and women need to die in Afghanistan.
The evil empire is being exposed for who they truly are. Their secret parliament met in Ottawa in 06. Remember?

Windmills and the OMB process

The following video was shot at my appearance before the Ontario Municipal Board this past July. I went there to try and work within the system set up by the corpogov of Ontario. Under the decision/order no. 2230 dated August 9, Mr. Jackson states that "Thahoketoteh has come to the wrong forum to advance a land claim. The Board has authority under the Ontario Municipal Board Act to decide questions of law when they are related to planning matters."
As you will see in the video I never mentioned land claims at all but I did mention the Haldimand contract and Canadian Hydro Developers(CHD) breach of it. The Ontario government and Canadian government have shown us they never had any intention of ever following any law that concerns indigenous people.
I asked the prime minister to show me in the constitution where is the provision for UNTS 1021 and I quote, "The Contracting Parties undertake to enact, in accordance with their respective Constitutions, the necessary legislation to give effect to the provisions of the present Convention and, in particular, to provide effective penalties for persons guilty of genocide or any of the other acts enumerated in Article 3." I never even got a reply on that email.
Instead I was informed that to fight this order, that is contrary to international and constitutional law, I could only seek refuge in the Canadian legal system and that would cost roughly $80,000.00 In the meantime CHD rushed to put up another 69 windmills ignoring their responsibility to us the true landowners. Backed by Ontario and Canada's inaction.
I'll let everyone judge the legality of this action for themselves. Watch the video
to the right on this page.
When will the rest of the people learn that they are next to have their rights trampled by the corporatocracy.

Honour matters
You all received a copy of the message I sent to Mr. Harper on the recent OMB Decision/Order no. 2230 regarding case # PL060653 and the one I sent to Mr. Mcguinty on July 26. As I never received a response from either of them I resend a letter regarding honour of the crown. With the upcoming provincial election and the shaky situation in the federal sphere, this letter is absolutely applicable now.
A Matter of Honour
The current situation with Canada and the Mohawk nation, in fact all of the original nations, has come full circle. Just like in a cycle. The question everyone needs to ask is, does Canada honour her obligations in the international sphere? These unresolved land claims all over this vast land are of utmost importance to Canada’s reputation on the world stage. We got a letter back from the Queen stating that Canada is a constitutional democracy (without a ratified constitution I might add), and to take up our issues with her representative the Governor General. As far as I am aware the Governor General has never answered that call. But for her and the rest of the elected and appointed representatives in this so-called democracy, their duty is to honour the Crown.
In the Haldimand Proclamation the Crown was to protect for us and our posterity forever, 6 miles from each side of the Grand River starting at Lake Erie and extending to the head. It is spelled out quite clear what they are supposed to be doing to honour the British Crown’s reputation.
Now I have been up here at the headwaters for 7 years paying rent to the tune of $10Gs a year and have been asking the government through its various arms, where is the land you are supposed to be protecting for me and my future generations? The people whom I have met and conversed with here, all assume that we have been conquered somehow. I ask “when did that happen” because we still are "her majesty's faithful allies" as it states in the Haldimand contract
As eyes and ears of the Mohawk Nation here at the headwaters (Kanekota), it is my duty to all Mohawks and their future generations to hold them to their word. As Hendrick said in 1710 when he arrived back from Britain “They rely on the written word, and that is how they will be judged”
There are 8 fires going now for the Mohawk nation in New York, Quebec and Ontario. These corporations seeking to exploit our jurisdiction need to start understanding that. It doesn’t help that the government of Ontario and Canada keep trying to steer them on the illegal path.
The process for these windmill groups is definitely not legal when they are not honouring the crowns obligations. Their lawyers seem to follow the age old strategy of trying to find a scapegoat, like Joseph Brant, and somehow trying to appear legal. When that doesn’t work they bring in the police and when that doesn’t work they bring in the army. Why not try honouring your legal responsibilities? That might work.

Colonial Canada
Decolonize Now
The crux of colonialism is the rails that span the continent. Corporate greed and expansionism started with the rails. It is time that the railroads became accountable to the titleholders of the land they occupy all over the country. For every train that travels across indigenous territory they should be paying a toll to the nations that allowed that in the first place. I quote UN 1514;
The aspirations of the peoples of the Territories to achieve self-determination, and the international community's perception that United Nations Charter principles were being too slowly applied, led to the United Nations General Assembly's proclamation on 14 December 1960 of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples - resolution 1514 (XV).
The Declaration states that "the subjection of peoples to alien subjugation, domination and exploitation constitutes a denial of fundamental human rights, is contrary to the United Nations Charter, and is an impediment to the promotion of world peace and cooperation, and that steps should be taken to transfer, unconditionally, all powers to the Trust and Non-Self-Governing Territories so that they might enjoy complete freedom and independence".
Electronic ticketing is already in use on the 407 in Ontario and it is a proven method of monitoring every vehicle movement and holding the traveler accountable. When CN and CP move their trains through Miqmac, Algonquin, Haudenosaunee, Anishnabe, Cree, Blackfoot, Chilcotin , Salish and any of the other nations land they are exploiting, they should be paying a toll, similar to ETR practices already in place for individual motorists on the toll highway.
This would be the minimum that Canada should do to honour the treaty on decolonization that she signed. We can hear the whining in the boardrooms of the railroads at such a suggestion that they should be forced to honour any such law. They think they are the law and that this is still the wild west. Take the example of CN’s action on Shawn Brant and how they use the Canadian legal system to back their illegal actions.
Canada has to start honoring the international treaties they are a party to and force CN to drop their lawsuit against Shawn, install the electronic toll collection and start the process of decolonization now, better late than never.
With unity of mind through the natural law comes great strength,
